Some of you asked me what changes have been made to the third edition. I will post a full list near the end of the week, but here's a short version:
- advice on how to migrate PF 4.5 and earlier rulesets to the upcoming PF 4.6
- all non-PF chapters are out, because the OpenBSD Command-Line Companion does a much better job of covering these topics
- 24+ full ruleset examples
- added IPsec and IPsec/PF integration coverage
- better coverage of non-PF filtering solutions (filtering on bridges, using Apache proxy features, etc.)
- better explanation of ALTQ
- better explanation of spamd and authpf
- a new chapter on troubleshooting PF
