This site belongs to devGuide.net ltd, a new media publishing and training company.
History
devGuide.net was established in 2003 by Jacek Artymiak when he had to quickly form a business structure to handle the flood of orders for the first edition of Building Firewalls with OpenBSD and PF. Jacek thought he would be lucky if he sold 100 copies. The book sold over 6,000 copies in the first two years and will have its third edition in Autumn 2008. devGuide.net has since then branched into instructor-lead hands-on training, on-line course delivery, off-line e-learning, software development, and multimedia publishing with focus on security, Open Source, Mac OS X, new tools and technologies.
Our expertise is valued by the top multinational companies, government agencies, and educational establishments.
Present
2008 is a turning point for us. We are re-focusing our efforts and introducing a new line of products that goes beyond traditional book publishing and instructor-lead training to deliver more scalable solutions.
Future
The future we all read about in the sci-fi books published in the 20th century is already here. Yet, it is still accessible to only a group of a few tuned-in specialists. We want to help narrow the gap between them and your workforce.
Our Policies
We do our business according to these principles:
- Deliver the best.
- Respect your privacy.
- Don't waste your time.

How Did We Get Our Name?
devGuide is made of two words: 'developer' and 'guide.' When we searched for a free domain name, the only one we could find was devguide.net, .com was already taken.
What Does 'Always -CURRENT' Mean?
When Open Source programmers write code, they usually mark the latest changes to the code with the CURRENT tag. 'Always -CURRENT' means we stay on the bleeding edge of the latest developments and trends in IT.
